Price transparency at checkout
US prices are shown before sales tax, so the total jumps at checkout. Showing estimated tax and shipping earlier, or a free-shipping threshold in the cart, is one of the most common tests worth running for US stores.
Most CRO programs fail because they test opinions. We start from your analytics and your customers: where visitors drop off, what they say stops them, and which fixes are worth a test at your traffic level.
For US Shopify and Shopify Plus stores that means looking closely at the things US shoppers compare before they buy: total price with shipping and sales tax, delivery dates, returns, buy-now-pay-later and wallet payments, and trust signals on mobile.

Shoppers compare against fast national delivery. A specific “Get it by Thursday” estimate, cut-off times and clear holiday shipping deadlines often move conversion more than design changes.
Shop Pay, Apple Pay, PayPal and BNPL options such as Afterpay, Klarna and Affirm change both conversion and average order value. We test where and how they appear instead of switching them all on.
For consumable brands, subscribe-and-save offers, bundles and post-purchase upsells often raise revenue per visitor more than the first conversion rate. We measure tests on revenue, not only on orders.
Contrast, focus states, form labels and error messages help every shopper finish checkout, and US stores also face ADA accessibility claims. Accessibility issues found during the audit go into the roadmap with everything else.
Each test is planned with the effect it can detect at your traffic, and read with Bayesian analysis. If you do not have the traffic for a test, we tell you and use research-led changes instead.
What we most often find in a US setup, and what it looks like once it is fixed.

Sales tax and shipping appear only at checkout, so the total jumps at the last step
Estimated tax and shipping, or a free-shipping threshold, shown in the cart and tested
Delivery is promised in “business days” while shoppers compare against a dated delivery
A dated “Get it by” estimate with order cut-off times and holiday shipping deadlines
Every wallet and buy-now-pay-later option is switched on, with no test of where each one helps
Wallet and BNPL placement tested on both conversion and average order value
Checkout forms and error messages that keyboard and screen-reader users cannot get through
Accessibility issues from the audit fixed as part of the same conversion roadmap
We check that purchase and funnel events are accurate before trusting any of them.
Analytics, recordings, heatmaps, surveys and a page-by-page audit against our 148-point checklist.
Every idea is scored and the roadmap starts with the changes that can move revenue soonest.
Tests are built, QA’d, run to their planned sample size and written up, wins and losses alike.
Enough conversions per variant to detect the effect you care about, which usually means a few hundred conversions per variant per test. Below that, research-led changes and qualitative testing are a better use of budget, and we will say so.
We work with the tool that fits your store, such as Shopify-native testing apps, VWO, Convert or Optimizely, and with theme-level tests where an app is not needed.
On Shopify Plus, checkout extensibility allows changes and tests inside checkout. On other plans, most of the gains come from cart, shipping and payment messaging before checkout, which we can test.
The audit and roadmap come first. How fast tests conclude depends on traffic; quick fixes that need no test can ship straight after the audit.
Research and test builds happen asynchronously, results are shared in a written report and on a call scheduled to overlap with your working day, and every test is QA’d before launch.
Tell us about your store and stack. We review it and send back a prioritized list of what to fix first.
